Analysts have indicated that the Nook Color has a number of units that were rooted to make them run like an Android tablet, which will likely run in the thousands or more. The firmware for the Nook Color will be updated within the year to allow it to support the Flash Player of Adobe. Our announcement yesterday of HCL launching Android-based later this week came true earlier than expected. For HCL did unveil its ME Android tablets late yesterday, releasing three different products: two 7-inch tablets (HCL ME Tablet AE7-A1 and AM7-A1) while one 10-inch tablet (HCL ME Tablet AP10).
The three different HCL ME Android tablets run on Froyo i.e. Android 2.2 OS, and not the latest Android 3.0 Honeycomb build for tablets. The tablets are priced at Rs. 14,990 for the HCL ME Tablet AE7-A1, Rs. 25,790 for the HCL Tablet AM7-A1, and Rs. 32,990 for the HCL ME Tablet AP10. Let’s take a closer look at their individual specs. This video shows a test of my mobile application that I am currently designing and developing for my graduate thesis at Parsons. In this iteration I am able to control the windows wirelessly using my Samsung Galaxy S Tablet and Arduino. I am using the Amarino Toolkit as the mode of communication between my tablet and the sensors.
