Intel hinting info at Computex about its android tablet

As other companies like ARM and NVIDIA aim for the smartphone market, Intel is still trying to compete to protect their PC market share. They see opportunities in the mobile industry but at Computex, Intel announced a more directly related product line: Ultrabooks. New Asus Padfone trying hard to become the Motorola Atrix of tablets

Hasn’t Asus learned anything from the Atrix? Generally, people don’t want to dock their phones inside of anything. Asus tends to not agree with this. At the recent Computex, they unveiled the rumored Padfone android tablet which has a special dock in the back in which you can place your smartphone. Archos Arnova line of product is an affordable Android tablet

Archos has came up with more budget android tablets under the Arnova brand. The Arnova 84 features a resistive touchscreen with a 4:3 aspect ratio. The tablet features the older Android 2.1 OS. On the other hand, the Arnova 7, runs Android 2.2 and has a 7 inch with a 800 x 480 pixel resistive display.

Neither tablets include access to Google’s Android Market. Instead,  they offer a 3rd party app store with around 30,000 apps available to everyone.

More detailed specs on the screen, CPU and other specs for the Arnova 84 aren’t available at the moment. The Arnova 84 is expected to go on sale soon for around $212 US or 149 Euros while the Archos 7 will run you about $163 US.

The new devices join several other low cost tablets from Archos including the Arnova 8 and Arnova 10.
