It seems like Amazon and B&N are not the only companies who want to gain control of the tablet e-reader scene. Kobo, who has already launched quite a few version of their touchable e-ink reader, must have felt the need to raise the competition for the 7″ LCD device race by apparently releasing a new tablet named Vox.

Toshiba is getting more and more into the android tablet market as they announced today that they have been working on a new 7-inch Android tablet that features a HD touchscreen. The tablet gives consumers another option besides Toshiba’s many series of laptops and its current 10 inch Android tablet.

LIke we had talked about earlier this week, Motorola has been working on a 7-inch Android tablet which, we now know, is set to hit stores in November. This will be the company’s 2nd tablet to hit the market, after the Xoom that didn’t make such a big “boom” when it came out. A 10.1-inch version will follow and come out in December, just in time for Christmas, says a Chinese reports. Compal is the company that helped with the design of the smaller tablet notes the Commercial Times.Motorola, on the other hand, has been building its larger XOOM-replacement in their own shops. Mezeo Software , a company that leads it’s competitors in the cloud storage management industry, has published that it will be offering new Android tablet and smartphone clients to their already popular service. Mezeo will be showing a live demo of its new Android client at the Hosting and Cloud Transformation Summit – North America, which will be held at the Bellagio in Las Vegas this coming week. The Android client should be publicly available to download in October.

Currently, 99% of all Android tablets use an onscreen keyboard which is included in android but for many people used to working with a real keyboard, the set of onscreen keys does not feel right and slows down typing speed. For these reasons and for these consumers, ASUS has launched the Eee Pad Slider SL101 which is the first of its kind, this 10 inch Android tablet offers a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard. This $479 device also includes a bright IPS screen (which is also rare on tablets), a full-size USB port (for connecting an external storage drive or mouse), and a pretty slick chassis. Are these features good enough to justify the 2.1 lbs weight? Is the typing experience a lot better then on other android tablets on the market?
