Posted on 23 March 2011 by Android

Don’t think that using an Android-powered device means you are exempt from viruses or software exploits – AVG is offering their AntivirusFree for Android tablets.

This new piece of software is known as AVG Mobilation for Android, where it will rely on a cloud-based security platform – although AVG states that the app will not hit affect your battery life in a negative manner. Apart from that, it can also scan other applications, settings, data and media files for viruses. With the inclusion of a remote wiping facility, in the event where you misplace your tablet, you will have added peace of mind since you can always remove all of your precious information within before it is too late.

An SD memory card functions as a back up option, and you can download the AntiVirusFree app for free, while the Pro version of the software will cost you a tenner.
