Fandango will be offering a new app for Android Tablets

Fandango, who is one of the leading movie destination, has published news today on their upcoming Fandango App that will be available on Android Tablets.The Fandango App that will be available only on Android tablet will offer a new and quicker mean of browsing for movie info that is custom made for the Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system. Current known features include a personalized way to getting starting time for motion pictures at popular theatres, HD video and pics and “The Pulse” which is a visual representation of the company’s best ticket sellers.

Since unveiling its initial mobile app in 2008, Fandango has become the supplier of the country’s most used mobile moviegoing app. The societies assorted mobile and tablet applications have won 3  Webby Awards in 2011and the mobile site has recently won the Digiday MOBI Award last September.

“Smartphones and android tablets play a major role for moviegoers nowadays, and Fandango has seen enormous development in this area,” says Rick Butler who is the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Fandango. “Since Android is open source and free platform, people will be able to enjoy Fandango on a large array of Android devices.”

Fandango’s mobile offers have achieved a number of important milestones lately:

20% of Fandango’s summer motion picture ticket sales have been yielded by its mobile app and mobile web site. This marks Fandango’s record for the highest mobile movie tickets sold during a summer. 40% of Fandango overall hits come from mobile devices and tablets. Various Fandango app have already been downloaded nearly 20 million times already.

The Fandango app for Android tablets will be downloadable October 25.
