Motorola’s Android tablet confirmed as Stingray

Posted on 17 August 2010 by Android

Motorola is reported to be readying the release of a 10-inch Android-powered tablet device known as the Motorola Stingray.

News of the tablet, which is also known as MOTMZ600, has been in circulation for quite sometime on the continent thanks to some leaks courtesy of Verizon, according to Softpedia Mobile.

The name of the device, which is now thought to be Stingray, was first acquired by Droid-Life when it spotted a cached Verizon page where the MOTMZ600 is referred to as the Stingray.

At present it seems that the device is going to launch on Verizon in Spain, but there’s been no official announcement or confirmation of this.

Nevertheless, it does look like it’s about to be released, so a UK announcement can’t be that far away – especially if Motorola wants to get it out before the end of the year.

To be honest though, we’re more interested in the specs of the “Stingray” and when you consider it’s late release date, we’d expect Android 3.0 at the least, lots of storage, two cameras and HDMI support, at the very least.
