Olive Telecom has revealed their new Android tablet called the Olive Pad VT100, making this 7-inch tablet the first 3.5G Android tablet that is available within India.
Running Android 2.1 for now, the unit comes with a screen resolution of 800×480 pixel resolution, 512MB RAM (with 512MB ROM), 3MP integrated camera, a mini USB connection, built-in WiFi and Bluetooth technology. Interestingly enough, with voice support and the inclusion of a front facing camera which is becoming a more common feature on new tablet designs, this device will behave like a large smartphone that offers live video calling.
The unit will go on sale within India some time in August and should retail between $425-$530 US. The rumor is that the Olive Pad VT100 will eventually make its way into Europe and Russia, but there is no indication about a US launch.
