Shuai Cool 8.9″ tablet sticks to traditions

Posted on 21 May 2010 by Android

With dozens of Chinese vendors coming out with Android Tablets, it is perhaps a big surprise when a company like SINCHUM have decided to be different and release their own Tablet PC but without the Android platform. The 8.9″ Tablet PC called “Shuai Cool” is built around mini computer hardware and runs Windows XP tablet edition with the aid of a stylus. This brings back memories from original Tablet PC when they first started coming out a few years back. With the release of the iPad and the Android Tablets, we never thought it would come back to this.

The Shuai Cool runs on an Intel N270 Atom processor. The 8.9″ screen is touch-enabled is not very finger friendly and is used with the aid of a stylus since the Windows XP Tablet Edition OS was never really designed for finger navigation. This is a setback compared to the newer Android Tablets. The chassis itself speaks of decent build quality, with an apparently genuine alloy bezel.

In terms of storage, the Shuai Cool uses an SSD drive from KingSpec, it also comes with bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. It also features a Webcam, a couple of USB ports and multi-card reader for all the needs one could have.
