Heard about the $500+ Dell Streak Android Tablet? This is similar but is to be sold at only $88 (for distributors buying at least 1000 pieces). This is the Acorp 5″ Rockchip 600mhz ARM9 based Android tablet. This sized tablet fits just fine in most pockets and provides better view of web browser, video and apps.
During a speech that was given yesterday at the the Citrix Synergy conference, Michael Dell confirmed that the company’s Streak Android tablet pc, formerly known as the Mini 5, will be available in Europe next month from the Telefonica O2 mobile phone carrier, which offers service all over Europe. Mr Dell also added that it would be available from the GSM carrier AT&T in the US some time during summer”.
The Streak android Tablet PC was first shown off at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas as a prototype and later at the 2010 Mobile World Congress(MWC) in Barcelona. According to Engadget, who were given a prototype of the device, the tablet features a 5 inch touch screen, a 5 Megapixel camera, built-in Wi-Fi and 3G. A specific release date and price, however, have yet to be announced.
The eviGroup android tablet nicely named “Wallet” is a 5-inch resistive touchscreen MID running Android in a similar way as the Archos 5 does. Based on the Samsung ARM11 processor, it will come short of the Archos 5 processing power. What it does have is a low price, a built-in camera and a semi-rugged design.
