Indeed, like the Kindle (except that the latter does not touch), this tablet has a physical keyboard under the screen. Has Acer listened to the advice of his neighbor Lenovo, which said in February that the fully touchscreen tablets were not necessarily the best? Continue Reading

In addition to Apple, plenty of other companies are jumping on the tablet PC bandwagon. Camangi offers an Android based tablet PC that first made its debut late in 2009 and after a bit of tweaking, they relaunched in the spring of 2010 their “new and improved” Camangi WebStation 7″ Android based tablet PC. With all these new chinese tablet coming out, the prices are coming down, even this early into 2010 when the android tablet market is still young. If you think, like many others, that the 499$ entry-level price for a 16GB WiFi iPad model is too steep, you might want to consider HiVision’s forthcoming tablet unveiled at the CeBIT 2010 show in Hannover, Germany. With a name like “SpeedPad”, this 7-inch tablet powered by Google’s Android O/S may not come with all the bells and whistles of the iPad, but it should cost you just a fraction of the price and offer you most of the same features. The NAZ-10s interface is pretty stock, although with a tap you can access Compals own interface, which is layered on top of Android. The 7-inch display played back a 1080p clip. The tablet is expected to be sold through carriers, which will set the price. However, Nvidia said it expects it to cost no more than $300 (in the U.S., at least, $199 sounds more like it).

It would seem that pictured here is the N700 Tablet from Aigo. Even if it was never anticipated that Aigo / Patriot would come through with a android based tablet that actually made us take a second glance, I think they have made us think twice and that’s even without readin the following specifications sheet: 7-inch screen with 800 x 480 pixel multitouch display, a 1GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor and feature NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 graphics chipset. There will also be 512MB of DDR2 memory, 4/16/32GB of inbuilt storage, a USB socket, microSD slot, HDMI output, inbuilt WiFi, optional 3G WWAN, audio in / out and a 3,120mAh battery. The downfall is that details on pricing and availability is still missing. We can’t wait to get more details on when this baby is coming out.
Update: Well, as discovered by Engadget, it seems as if this here device may in fact be a Compal NAZ-10 in disguise, and if this YouTube video is to be believed, it’ll boast 16 hours of HD video playback on a single charge and a $300 price tag.
