Lowell McAdam,Verizon CEO Lowell said last week that Google is working with Verizon to develop tablet PCs in order to fight against Apple iPad. Eric Schmid, Google CEO told his friends, Google is developing a tablet PC that based on Android Smartphone operating system. However, to counter the Apple iPad, Google Tablet PC must have the following 10 major functions:
Touch panel must meet or exceed the level of iPad.
Prices must be lower than the iPad.
Support Flash (iPad does not support).
Integrates Google core services free of charge (iWork charges in the iPad).
Looks like Google’s Android is making its way to platforms other than phones / smartphones – as open source, it is also seen on the new Tablet PCs, the Blue Sky BL10 is the latest one. What makes the BL10 slightly different is that it works with a VIA processor WM8505, which is an exception to the norm (usually it is the Intel Atom or Snapdragon). The BL10 is equipped with a touch screen 10.1 “1024 x 576, 256MB RAM, up to 32GB of NAND flash and a VGA camera option. The price is not known yet.

It would seem that the iPad might have some stiff competition ahead since after entering the smartphone market with its Android platform, Google really wants to pursue the Internet Tablet PC market.
In fact, from an article that appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Lowell McAdam, CEO for Verizon Wireless, confirms that they are working with Mountain View on an Android Tablet to compete with the iPad.
If Google did not want to react to that statement, the company states that any builder can use the system to integrate Android into new Tablet PC. Bloomberg reports that Marquette Smith, a spokesperson for Verizon, confirms that their Tablet PC will run the Android OS and not the Chrome OS.

The Eken M003, a tablet pc using the Rockchip 2808A processor clocked at 600 MHz and paired with 128MB of RAM, the touch pad designed by Eken and known as the M003 running Android environment 1.5, code name Cupcake.

Tinhte.com has gotten hold of rare footage of this rumoured tablet and it looks like a pretty nifty gadget. Being larger than a phone yet a bit smaller then other tablets coming out which are offering 7-inch screens, it probably won’t appeal to everyone.
